A $59 cream has been touted by customers worldwide as a miracle cure for headaches, insomnia and even chronic pain.

Madame Magnesium was founded by mother Tanya Hickey, who was on the lookout for something to help her children who required gastrointestinal healing and therefore a higher level of magnesium, but one that didn't have the itchiness and sting of other magnesium oils.

After several years of developing the product in her kitchen at home, the 46-year-old from Sydney perfected her hand-made formulation with a unique combination of magnesium chloride and highly potent anciently revered botanicals.

Today, Madame Magnesium's creams are not only used by Tanya and her family - but they sell around the world and boast a cult global following.

According to Tanya, what makes the creams so special and unlike anything else on the market is the fact that they possess a high amount of magnesium chloride, but aren't painful or itchy to apply.

'Due to their formulation, my creams are great for inflammatory issues and can be applied to achey joints, sore muscles and areas of pain in acute situations,' Tanya told FEMAIL.

'But how they work best is when they are applied at night to the arches of the feet - which can help with a great night's sleep.'

Madame Magnesium boasts three different sorts of cream - one of which is designed for adults and athletes, one of which is designed for kids and teens, and a third, which is designed for pregnant women and sensitive men or women.

The creams are touted to help with all sorts of ailments - whether you are someone who struggles to sleep, suffers from cramp or you need help with recovery after sport.

And the reviews and testimonials online for the products are glowing.

'It's life-changing,' one person wrote.

Why is magnesium so powerful? * Magnesium is a mineral vital for the proper functioning of your body. * Your body can’t make it, so you need to obtain it from your diet. * To get enough of this essential nutrient, it’s recommended that men and women get 400–420 mg and 320–360 mg per day, respectively and depending on age. * You can obtain magnesium through diet and supplements. * Magnesium has been linked to lowering blood pressure, increasing mood, reducing heart disease risk, helping with recovery and muscles and getting rid of migraines. 'I promise you that this cream makes a difference. I have been suffering with a chronic back issue, which almost had me bed ridden once again – long story!,' another said.

'Cutting long story short, I started using this cream last week when pain was peaking and now I am the best I have been in months. True story!'

Another posted: 'We have a mutual friend who introduced me to this product not so long ago and as we are both athletes, training most days of the week, it is important to ensure that we top up our magnesium levels.

'After every training session, I will apply the Meta Cell Armour Mg soul balm to release any muscle pain.

'You only need a tiny bit to make a huge difference.

'I also use it for headaches, applying a tiny bit on both sides of the temples and it's like magic. In minutes the pain will ease and often will take away the pain entirely.'

Meanwhile, Tanya has continued to use it in her own home each evening - and with her children.

'Magnesium has really helped me cope with extreme stress over the years,' Tanya said.

'They say necessity is the mother of invention, and in my case it came true!

'Never in my wildest dreams could I have hoped to not only have helped my own children with their health, but to be able to help so many others around the world is just mind-blowing.'"
